IP Insight that Tracks Product Development
An evolving view of the intellectual property landscape is more meaningful than a snapshot in time. The Kapstone process integrates IP review with product development, enabling you and the development team to have a deeper and ongoing understanding of the relevant IP landscape.
Whether you develop internally, with Kapstone or with another partner, our approach to IP provides you with an awareness of IP issues that is in context with where you are in the commercialization path.
Avoid Costly & Make a Predictable IP Investment
We provide an evolving Risk/Benefit Profile to guide design decisions and flag potential hurdles to your business. Early engagement gives you perspective before you commit further development resources. And it helps focus attention on the most distinguishing aspects of your design to optimize the strength of your own IP portfolio. Our fee structure is project phase-based, not hourly-based. That means you have a concrete understanding of your financial commitment for IP through each phase of development.

Scope of Services
Kapstone provides IP consulting services – we are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. Kapstone’s IP Specialist is registered to practice with the USPTO to provide patent drafting and pre-examination prosecution services. We also provide patent landscape services that include patent and related literature searching, and technical review and analyses of competitor patents and products.
We DO NOT provide agreement advice or drafting, patent litigation services, patent opinion work, trademark or copyright services, or any other legal service. We encourage you to secure your own lawyer who can advise you on managing IP risk along with other legal aspects of your business.
